As part of the redesign of this bus station, 1,200 m2 of Cor-Ten® steel were installed onto the façade, the work expertly carried out by the Croatian company Formartis d.o.o.

For this project, we recommended treating the steel with dx-COR in order to eliminate the mill-scale, and then later, the steel was oxidized with act-COR GEL, a product that offers not only excellent control during its application, but also delivers a wide range of oxide shades. These can range from the primary oranges through to darker tones, and it was the latter option that was chosen by the client for this facade.

Once the desired tone was achieved, our recommendation was to halt the oxidation using our bp-COR Xtrem, a stop-bath product that ceases the oxidation initiated by using the activator. This product also provides greater thermal resistance compared to the standard version, and results in a slightly satin finish, while protecting the oxidized surface against dirt and atmospheric agents. It is the perfect solution when varnishing is not favoured, but a certain level of protection of the oxidized finish of Cor-Ten® steel is required.

LINEACOR® product range: the most direct route to achieving success in all of your Cor-Ten® steel projects.
